Events

Our programming is designed to foster conversation, celebrate community, and highlight contributions in natural history. To make this possible, we host three types of events that each bring something unique to the table.

Community
Conversations

Community conversations are a series of forums meant to serve as a venue for discussing specific difficulties faced by Black professionals in natural history museums and other academic institutions.

Annual BINHMS Week

Inspired by the many Black-in-“X” weeks on twitter, we organized our annual online event in October to engage Black in Natural History Museum professionals (#BlackinNHMs).

Black in Natural History Exhibit

Beginning in February 2024,  BiNHMs will showcase a temporary exhibit at the Florida Museum of Natural History. Explore the contributions of Black scientists through engaging stories and exhibits and find out where we’ll be featured next.
