We are a community of Black professionals in Natural History Museums. We seek to build a stronger connection among Black museum staff, faculty & students and are looking to highlight career and other opportunities for our community. We offer support, science education, and networking for Black folx involved in Natural History Museums.
Reimagining Black folx relationship with the biodiversity of our planet
BlackInNHMs was developed to serve as a community harnessing the power of a collective and helping individuals find mentors, mentees and wellness while occupying the sometimes harsh isolating world of being Black in NHMs.
Check out Black in Natural History Museums Week
Inspired by the many Black-in-“X” weeks on twitter, we host an annual online event in October to engage Black in Natural History Museum professionals (#BlackinNHMs).

We need your helping in order to introduce and support more Black people in natural history. Please consider donating to help us promote a community for those who have been historically excluded.
