Juneteenth Bioblitz

We invite you to reconnect with nature by joining us for an exciting week-long BioBlitz celebration from June 14th to June 20th in honor of Juneteenth! This collaborative community science event will be hosted by several Black in X groups including Black In Natural History Museums, Black Birders, Black Botanists Week, and in partnership with H.O.N.E, Sierra Club, Gather New Haven, Aspetuck Land Trust, and the Connecticut Land & Conservation Council.

A BioBlitz is a fun, fast-paced event where participants team up to explore and record as many species as possible in a short period. Using the iNaturalist platform, you can share your observations, learn about local flora and fauna, and contribute to global biodiversity research!

Everyone is welcome to participate whether you're an experienced naturalist or a curious beginner. Choose to join one of our guided group events or explore independently in your backyard, local park, favorite outdoor space…
